What We Believe

We believe that the message of truth the Bible gives forth about God, sin, redemption, and daily living is true and without error as originally inspired by God through the culture and understanding of the Biblical writers.

We also believe it is His Holy Spirit that guides us into all understanding and relevant application of that inspired message of truth (2 Tim. 3:16-17, 1 Peter 1:20-22, John 16:13).

Humanity was originally created in the image and likeness of God. We separated ourselves from God (the Giver of Life) through disobedience when we chose to be like God (without God) which caused both a physical and spiritual death.

All people are born under the curse of sin, with a propensity to sin. All people fall into the temptation of trusting something other than God for completeness, wholeness, well-being, and significance; therefore, we cannot save ourselves with good deeds.

Trusting in Christ’s death on the cross to make atonement for our sin is the only hope for any of us to be with God now and forever. Eternal separation from God is the end for all of those who don’t trust in God’s way of salvation (Gen 1:27; Romans 3:23 & 6:23; Acts 4:12; Rev 21:1-8).

There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4 and Mark 1:9-11).

It’s because of His holiness that we as sinners cannot stand in His presence, just as darkness cannot be in the presence of light. He is eternal and unchanging. He is good, just, and righteous. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present. He is compassionate, loving, merciful, forgiving, gracious, and personal (Ex. 34:6-7; Lev. 19:1-2; Is. 30:18 & 59:2; Jer. 23:23-24; Rev. 1:8).
Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is the true God and the true man. He died upon the cross for our sin, and all who believe in Christ are justified before God. He came back to life and is now with God as our great High Priest. He will come back to establish God’s kingdom and set right all of God’s creation according to His original intention (Luke 1:34-38, John 15:13, John 3:16, 1 Peter 3:18, 1st John 4:15-17, Rev. 21:1-3).
The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to be with all followers of Christ. He will convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He will guide believers into all truth, be a witness to them that Christ rose from the dead, and He will empower all believers to share the Gospel all over the world through the gifts and character that best reflect God’s love for all of humanity (John 14-16, Acts 1:8, 1 Cor. 12:7-11).

The Universal Church consists of every person who trusts Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins and salvation of their souls. It exists to proclaim the Good News that Jesus’ death on the cross and return to life is God’s solution to sin, and it is to help people understand how to follow Christ in light of that Good News. The local church helps followers of Christ join the Universal Church in its mission to share the Gospel (Matt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Gal. 3:26-29).

In relation to time and human history, the second coming of Jesus will be soon. It will be personal and visible. All will be judged according to their soulful belief or disbelief in Jesus as their Savior. It will be at that time that Christ redeems all of creation and sets all things to a right relationship with God. This is the believer’s blessed hope, and it is a vital truth. It is also an incentive to holy living and faithful service (Luke 21:27; Titus 2:11-14, Heb 9:26-28; Rev. 21).
